WasabiCon 2014 has completed. Thank you Jacksonville!
Green Mustard Entertainment grew a lot this year. You see, we don’t just run WasabiCon – but also Florida Anime Experience, Florida Comics Experience, PinUpalooza, and (occasionally) InvaderCON. This year we were also on hand in some capacity or another for Anime Expo, CONjure, Dragon Con, Florida Supercon, Gen Con, and Megacon.
You do a lot of shows and sometimes your details get blurry… but WasabiCon always sticks out because we’re never sure what to expect and we are always pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Based on our notes, WasabiCon hit about 600-700 attendees it’s first time (when it was a one day show). That number practically doubled in year two with approximately 1200 unique attendees over two days (or, if you like turnstile numbers, about 1,600). This year we grew about 16% to over 1,400 unique attendees (1,900 turnstile).
That. Is. Awesome.
Jacksonville, Florida has fully embraced the concept we’re striving for: a true multimedia experience for fans of anime, comics, cosplay, video games, paranormal, sci-fi, and “all things geek”. We saw two solid days of folks dressed up from Star Trek, My Little Pony, Homestuck, Resident Evil, and dozens of other pop culture characters.
So thank you, Jacksonville, for making WasabiCon 2014 an amazing experience.
We also need to thank a lot of other folks who make this all possible.

We’ve loved becoming Jacksonville’s hometown convention these past three years, and we look forward to doing it for many more. Look for an update about WasabiCon 2015 before the end of the year. For now – the production team needs some much deserved rest.
That said – have memories or thoughts to share about your WasabiCon experience? Join the WasabiCon fan group on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/groups/WasabiConFans/
So once again: THANK YOU. We’ll see you all again next year.
