Convention Rules
1. Use common sense.
2. By registering for, accepting admission to, attending, or participating in WasabiCon, each attendee acknowledges and agrees to Green Mustard Entertainment’s Liability Release, Waiver, and Assumption of Risk. jax.wasabicon.com/policies#waiver
3. The following activities are prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the convention:
- Signs offering “free hugs” or otherwise soliciting physical contact, panhandling or other forms of solicitation. This includes, but is not limited to, signs reading “Will Yaoi for Money,” “Kisses for $1,” “Glomp Me” or similar messages.
- Pointing laser pointers at people, animals or other living beings.
- Using projectiles or spray products, including water guns, Silly String and similar items.
- Using rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards, hoverboards or other unauthorized wheeled devices inside the convention center or elsewhere on the event premises, including parking areas.
4. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal or physical assault, deliberate intimidation, bullying, stalking, discrimination and unwelcome physical contact. If anyone at the event tells you “no” or asks you to leave them alone, your interaction with that person is over. You must immediately stop attempting to communicate with or approach them. Continued unwanted contact may result in the revocation of your event credentials without a refund and your removal from the convention. WasabiCon and Green Mustard Entertainment cannot mediate personal disputes between attendees. However, event management may take appropriate action when conduct violates event policies, disrupts the convention or presents a potential safety concern. Attendees who experience or witness harassment should report it to a staff member or event security.
5. Treat all event facilities with respect. Damage to the convention center, host hotels, parking areas or any other property associated with the event will not be tolerated. Anyone responsible for property damage may be removed from the convention and held financially responsible.
6. Please maintain appropriate personal hygiene throughout the event, including regular bathing and the use of deodorant.
7. Wear costumes and clothing appropriate for a public, all-ages event. Attire that is excessively revealing, violates applicable laws or is otherwise deemed unsuitable by event management must be modified or removed.
8. Keep your personal belongings with you and secure at all times. Green Mustard Entertainment, WasabiCon, venue and hotel staff are not responsible for lost, stolen or unattended items. Do not leave bags, purses, backpacks or other belongings with staff members, under tables or in event spaces such as dances. Unattended items may be removed for security reasons. Please also refer to Rule #1.
9. Please keep hallways, doorways and other access points clear at all times. Stop for photos, conversations or gatherings only in designated areas where you will not block foot traffic or emergency access.
10. All Green Mustard Entertainment events follow a detailed costume Props Policy. Attendees bringing props must review and comply with the policy before arriving at the convention: jax.wasabicon.com/policies#props
11. Paid admission constitutes a limited, revocable license to attend WasabiCon. Green Mustard Entertainment reserves the right to revoke this license and remove any attendee from the event, without a refund, for violating WasabiCon’s rules, policies or applicable laws. All attendees and event credentials, including badges and wristbands, are subject to WasabiCon’s rules and regulations.
12. Certain activities may require an additional fee or be subject to registration requirements, age restrictions, capacity limits or other participation conditions.
13. An attendee’s badge or wristband may be revoked, and the attendee may be removed from the convention without a refund, for disorderly conduct, violations of applicable laws or event policies, threats to health or safety, or other conduct deemed inappropriate by WasabiCon management or venue management.
14. The attendee grants Green Mustard Entertainment, Inc., WasabiCon and their authorized sponsors, licensees, advertisers, broadcasters, designees, partners and agents irrevocable permission to photograph, film or otherwise record the attendee’s image, likeness, voice, actions and statements during the event. The attendee authorizes these parties to edit, modify, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, transmit and otherwise use such recordings in any format or medium now known or later developed, including photographs, audio recordings, video, film, social media, advertising, broadcasts, publications, exhibitions and event-related promotional materials. Such use may occur for any lawful purpose without further authorization, notice or compensation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the attendee waives any claims arising from or relating to such use.
15. Unless Green Mustard Entertainment, Inc. provides prior written permission, attendees may not photograph, film, record or otherwise create visual or audio reproductions of WasabiCon guests, attendees, volunteers, employees, programming or activities for commercial purposes, fundraising, solicitation or other unauthorized public distribution. This restriction includes, but is not limited to, cosplay events, contests, seminars, panels, sessions, dances and performances. Personal, noncommercial photography and recording remain subject to event policies, posted restrictions and the consent of the individuals being photographed or recorded.
16. All WasabiCon admission purchases are nonrefundable. Once tickets become nontransferable, they may not be reassigned or transferred to another attendee. Lost badges, wristbands, and other admission credentials will not be replaced free of charge. Attendees who lose their credentials must purchase new admission to regain access to the event. Please keep track of your credentials at all times!
17. All attendees must comply with the rules and regulations of the convention center and any host hotels, as well as all applicable local, state and federal laws.
18. Cosplay is not consent. Always ask permission before photographing or recording someone, and obtain clear consent before initiating any physical contact. Ignoring a person’s boundaries or continuing after permission has been denied may be treated as harassment under Rule #3 and may result in removal from the convention without a refund.
19. When in doubt, please refer to Rule #1.
Props Policy
The following is the standard Props and Weapons Policy for all WasabiCon conventions. For WasabiCon Jacksonville, we have worked directly with the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center to develop additional venue-specific guidelines designed to make your convention experience as safe and smooth as possible.

WasabiCon understands that props and replicas are often an important part of costumes, cosplay, and the overall convention experience. However, all attendees must follow the guidelines below to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
Prop Check
A Prop Check Desk will be located in the convention’s Registration area. All props must be inspected and peace bonded, if approved, before being brought into the event space. This includes, but is not limited to, staffs, replica weapons, swords, baseball bats, and other heavy objects that could be used as blunt instruments.
Working Weapons
Working weapons may not be carried openly or concealed at any time in or around the event hotel or convention center, including all parking areas.
Prohibited weapons include, but are not limited to:
Firearms and ammunition of any kind, airsoft weapons, arrows, axes, BB guns, blowguns, bows, brass knuckles, cap guns, chains, clubs, daggers, explosives, handguns, hatchets, katanas, knives, mace, martial arts weapons, nunchaku, paintball guns, pellet guns, pepper spray, polearms, rifles, shotguns, staffs, switchblades, swords, sword canes, and Tasers.
Purchased Weapons and Replicas
Any weapon or replica purchased in the Vendor Room or Artist Alley must remain securely wrapped and must be removed from the event space immediately following the purchase.
Laser Pointers
Laser pointers and similar devices may not be used in public event areas unless they are part of an approved, scheduled panel or event.
Prop Weapons and Replicas
All prop weapons and replicas used as part of a costume must be presented at WasabiCon Registration for inspection. Approved items will be peace bonded by event management.
Approval of any prop weapon or replica is at the sole discretion of WasabiCon management, venue management, and on-site law enforcement. Every effort will be made to protect attendee safety without unnecessarily affecting the integrity of a costume; however, all decisions are final.
Approval may be revoked at any time for any reason, including, but not limited to, inappropriate brandishing or display of the item or complaints from attendees, guests, staff members, exhibitors, or artists.
Violations
Violation of this policy may result in immediate removal from the convention and a ban from future events produced by Green Mustard Entertainment.

Anyone who does not accept these terms must not enter or participate in WasabiCon and must return any issued credential to Green Mustard Entertainment, Inc. before entering the event.
Severability
If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
