WASABICON, NORTHEAST FLORIDA’S LARGEST POP CULTURE EVENT, RETURNS!
The cosplay, anime, and gaming convention returns to the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center with its first in-person event in Jacksonville, Florida since 2019.
(JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA. October 8, 2021) WasabiCon is a two-day pop culture convention for fans of Asian pop culture, cosplay, and gaming. The event, its ninth in Jacksonville, Florida, will take place at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center and will feature celebrity guests, video games, tabletop gaming, a car show, food trucks, and over 200 exhibitors.
This year’s media guests include English voice actors Josh Grelle (Tokoyami from My Hero Academia), Monica Rial (Froppy from My Hero Academia), Mark Whitten (Rengoku from Demon Slayer), and Zach Aguilar (Tanjiro from Demon Slayer). The Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie, released earlier this year, holds the record for the largest opening for a foreign film in the United States and is the highest grossing anime film of all time and features the voices of both Mark Whitten and Zach Aguilar as primary characters.
Tickets are $35 for Saturday, $30 for Sunday, or $50 for the weekend. You can purchase admission in advance on the WasabiCon website (WasabiCon.com/jax/tickets/) or at the door each day. Parking is $5 each day for all attendees. Programming begins at 10:00 AM each day and concludes at 11:00 PM on Saturday and 7:00 PM on Sunday.
Masks are required for all WasabiCon attendees (ages 2 and up) regardless of vaccination status. An approved mask is required to be worn covering the nose and mouth while indoors except when eating and drinking while stationary. Details regarding this policy can be found online at WasabiCon.com/jax/covid
