Noise Complaint is Florida’s premiere professional tap ensemble, and a bunch of Geeks to boot. We perform rhythm-style tap dance choreography with music and costuming that specifically applies to a variety of geek fandoms. We recently did flash-mob style performances at DragonCon 2013 in Atlanta, performing choreography and music inspired by our favorite video games, fandom movies and anime characters including FFVII, Harry Potter, D&D and Marvel/DC. We perform many types of shows from one-song one-offs to full length productions. Tap dance has been thought of as a dying art, but we seek to bring it into our own mainstream, that is the mainstream of gamers, geeks and alternative culture. Tap Dancers are dancers as well as musicians, and through the rhythms we create with our feet and our bodies along with some of the best music, new and old, we put together stellar performances that will have you both glued to the edge of your seat and dying to get up and dance. We want to bring tap dance back out from the shadows and into pop culture, but most of all, we simply seek to make noise.
Noise Complaint will perform in Main Events on Sunday at WasabiCon 2013 at 1:30 PM.
They will also host a panel (called “Noise Complaint – The Panel”) on Saturday, November 2, at 5:00 PM in Panels A.

Helping round out our game room experience at WasabiCon 2013 is Jacksonville’s local video game mecca: Gorilla Games.

In early July, in the year 2012, the team at Green Mustard Entertainment (aka “Wasabi Anime”) decided to jump on an opportunity that had presented itself: there was no longer any form of “geek” event taking place in the Jacksonville, FL area in October. This void needed to be filled, and our team took it upon themselves to create a new experience for fans of anime, comics, science fiction, video games, and geek culture.
Thus, WasabiCon was born.
It was not a smooth road. These things usually take 8-12 months to get off the ground, and we had only four months to get everything together. We had to make some changes and some concessions, but thanks to the support of all of you out there in the fan community, we chugged along relentlessly with our promotion and planning, making every effort to deliver a fun event.
So…We want to extend a HUGANTIC AND GINORMOUS “THANK YOU!” to the amazing people out there that came out to our first-year convention and made it a success! Without you, we are nothing and there is no show. You all stuck with us through the ups and downs, and we can never thank you enough.

Greetings Internet! The very first WasabiCon kicks off this Saturday morning, and we’re very proud of our look-what-we-did-in-four-months convention. They fan support has been AMAZING and we’ve sold more tickets than we honestly expected for a a first year show. We can’t WAIT to see everyone come out and join us for the day.
A couple of notes…

2. The schedule isn’t complete yet. Check when you get to the convention and find out about the TOURNAMENTS in our video game room (run and sponsored by our friends at Anime Festival Orlando.)
3. Another exciting edition is something we pioneered at the very first Florida Anime Experience… Win Mike Broder’s Pocky! Mike from Florida Supercon will he on hand hosting his signature panel at WasabiCon. (Check the schedule on site for details.)
4. The hotel is sold out. We recommend checking Friday for last minute cancellations – but as of this post the hotel is booked solid for the weekend. (Note: you do not have to stay at the hotel to go to the convention.)

Building WasabiCon has been an ambitious project. The team from Green Mustard Entertainment is growing a show for Jackonville’s fans in less than four months time, and (in doing so,) we’ve gotten a LOT of feedback based on local expections for a convention like this coming to town.
One of the primary concerns that has been voiced is the ticket prices we’ve selected for a first year show.
Well… we’re listening.
We want to make a show FOR the fans, so we’ve made some modifications to the format of WasabiCon.
FIRST – WasabiCon 2012 will now be a ONE DAY convention. It is our intent to keep the format the same… same guests; same entertainment; same events; same vendors; etc. The difference is that we’re going to lower the cost of the show by shaving off Sunday for year one because (let’s face it) Sunday’s are slow and sleepy at newer shows.
Events will run from 11:00 AM on Saturday to 2:00 AM Sunday morning (Saturday night.) So, in reality, the impact on the show will be minimal. Based on our originally planned schedule, the event will lose less than six hours of planned entertainment.
SECOND – If you’ve already bought a ticket, you should have received an email from us regarding getting a partial refund for your pass.
THIRD – If you haven’t bought your pass yet, we are offering 100 tickets at only $15 for the next week. After that, tickets will be $20 in advance. At the door, tickets are $25 (dropped $5 from the original Saturday only price.)
Now that we’ve gotten the structure of the show reset, we will be emailing/posting panel confirmations and putting up the schedule over the coming week.
